Arizona ESA Disbursement Dates: When Deposits Hit Your ClassWallet
The Quarterly Deposit Schedule
Arizona ESA funds are distributed in four quarterly deposits through ClassWallet. ADE initiates each transfer between the 15th and 30th of the first month of the quarter — July, October, January, and April. After ADE submits the disbursement, banking settlement adds five to seven business days before the balance shows in your ClassWallet account.
For the 2026–2027 program year, ADE initiates transfers between the 15th and 30th of July, October, January, and April. Allow five to seven business days for banking settlement; no exact ClassWallet posting day is guaranteed.
How Proration Works
Your annual award is prorated based on when you sign the ESA contract:
| Contract Signed | Quarters Funded | Share of Annual Award |
|---|---|---|
| July 1 – September 30 | Q1 through Q4 | 100% |
| October 1 – December 31 | Q2 through Q4 | 75% |
| January 1 – March 31 | Q3 and Q4 | 50% |
| April 1 – June 30 | Q4 only | 25% |
Timing matters. A family that signs their contract on October 2 instead of September 29 loses an entire quarter of funding — roughly $1,750 to $2,000 for a typical K–12 student. If you are close to a quarter boundary, push to get your application and contract completed before the cutoff.
What Delays a Deposit
Three things commonly hold up a quarterly deposit:
Incomplete renewal. ESA contracts renew annually. ADE generates renewal contracts by May 1, and parents must sign by June 30. If you have not signed by June 30, complete the renewal promptly and contact ADE about your Q1 deposit. Under A.R.S. § 15-2402(F), failing to renew within 60 days after June 30 closes your account and forfeits any unspent balance.
Pending compliance action. A suspension can affect account access. If a scheduled deposit is delayed while ADE reviews a transaction, contact ADE and ask whether the review affects its timing. The 15-business-day cure window is the response deadline for a disallowed expense.
ClassWallet onboarding delay. New accounts take approximately three weeks to set up in ClassWallet after contract execution. Your first deposit will not appear until onboarding is complete, which can push a Q1 signing into an early-August deposit rather than late July.

Rollover and End-of-Year Rules
Unspent funds roll over quarter to quarter and year to year as long as your contract stays active. There is no "use it or lose it" pressure within a program year. Rollover balances carry forward into the next contract year after renewal.
After high school graduation, remaining balances can fund postsecondary education — tuition, enrollment fees, and required textbooks at eligible colleges and trade schools — until the student reaches age 22 (or 24 for students with documented severe disabilities who file annual attestation forms).
Plan Around the Calendar
The Arizona ESA Parent Guide includes a compliance calendar that maps every quarterly deadline, renewal window, and disbursement period into a single visual timeline — so you never miss a deposit or a deadline that costs your family thousands.
